On the 3rd of November in 1997, Queen released their compilation album Queen Rocks, which entered the Official UK Albums chart two weeks later and spent a total of twelve weeks in the top 100.
Queen Rocks is a compilation album that was devised deliberately to avoid the standardised format of a collection of greatest hits, instead, focusing on some of Queen’s heavier music. The album features 18 tracks; a mixture of Queen’s hit singles, album-only tracks, and one new track.
The new track, the gentle ballad “No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)”, was the last original studio recording from the 1990s to feature Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. The band members chose to record it and dedicated it to Freddie Mercury and all those who died too soon. This also was the last recording to feature John Deacon, who subsequently retired from public life.
