“A Winter's Tale” is a Queen single that was released on the 11th of December 1995. The song featured on Queen's fifteenth and final studio album “Made In Heaven”.

The song was written by Freddie Mercury after the “Innuendo” sessions of recording. Mercury wrote the song within a small house in Montreux, named “The Duck House”; the

house is pictured on the “Made In Heaven” album artwork cover.

The lyrics to the song were inspired by what Mercury could see from looking out of the windows from various places in Montreux.

Giving that Mercury was unsure of how much longer that he would be capable of recording, he changed the method of recording the lyrics; he would normally insist that all the music would need completing prior to him commencing any vocal arrangement, however he performed all the arrangement in just one sitting.

The video for the song resembles the form of an epitaph; Mercury's written song notes were displayed alongside imagery and clips of Mercury's past performances.
