Queen II was Queen's second self-titled studio album release.
The album was recorded between 1973 - 74 at the Trident and Langham 1 studios in London.
Queen II is considered to be Queen's heaviest album, combining heavy rock sound with both art and progressive rock elements. The featured tracks were a mixture of emotional and dark fantasy themes.
The album's cover artwork is a photograph of the band taken by Mick Rock. The photograph was re-used throughout Queen's career, most notably appearing in the music videos for Bohemian Rhapsody and One Vision.
